London - Science Museum

This morning, we head off to the science museum. This was a really fun and interactive museum where they had flight simulators, 3D cinemas and more. Mum wasn't too keen on it so she went to the Victoria and Albert museum which she said was great. After that, we went to Kensington Palace where we got to have a look through and see clothes and accessories used by Princess Diana, Queen Victoria and other former kings and queens. We then had a look at Harrods, which is this massive shop. It is most amazing shop I have ever seen with things ranging from clothing to gold bullion. For dinner, we went to Hard Rock Café which was quite nice food with a great atmosphere. Dad and I then returned to Harrods whilst Mum, Sean and Eloise returned home.

London - Day 5

Today, we headed off in the morning to the London Eye. It was a perfect day to go as there wasn't a cloud in the sky. Before we went on the Eye, we watched this short 4D show on the scenery we'll see when on the Eye. We then lined up and hopped on. It was really cool to see some of the sights we've seen and the other attractions. We then went to Westminster Abbey which was magnificent. We took an audio tour which told us about the history of the place. It was amazing to see all the detail that had been put into the building and it was really fascinating to see all the tombs there of the different kings and queens and other people like Sir Isaac Newton. We then headed home where we met up with Mum's good friends, Erica and Jim. They were extremely nice people and Mum hadn't seen them for 23 years, so she was very happy to meet up with them again. After they left, we went to Hyde Park where we saw the Australian War Memorial. We then went to see Covent Garden before heading back home for dinner.

London - Days 3 & 4

On our 3rd day in London, we headed off to "The Fat Duck" for lunch. After a train and taxi ride, we arrived in the small village of Bray. As we had one and a half hours to spare, we had a look around the village. It was a really interesting village as it seemed all the houses were made for dwarfs because the size of the doors were extremely small. We also saw this magnificent church which was built in the 13th Century. When it was 1:15pm, we entered  Heston Blumenthal's restaurant, "The Fat Duck". I haven't gotten around to writing up a review of it yet but overall it was amazing food and an extraordinary experience.

On our 4th day in London, we went and saw the Tower of London. We began with a guided tour of the Tower being told some history of the tower, like the many executions that took place. We then had a look for ourselves around the tower which holds the crown jewels, which was really fascinating to see. This was probably my favourite sight in London so far. Next we went to the Tower Bridge Exhibition. Here, we got to go up to see why and how the bridge was made and also see its engine rooms. Then, we took the subway to the London Zoo. Unfortunately, it was raining when we got there, so most of the  animals were hiding. Otherwise, it was a really interesting zoo with animals varying from snakes, lions, echidnas and giraffes. For dinner, we ate at some local mexican place which was alright food.

Below you should find some pictures of Bray.

First Day in London

Today was our first day in London so we decided to have a look around. We first went and saw Trafalgar Square before we headed off to Buckingham Palace. Unfortunately, the moment we got there the band was marching off in the other direction but otherwise it was very impressive.  We then had a walk through St. James's Park and had a look at Big Ben. After a fair bit of walking, we decided to go back to our room. In the afternoon, we went down to the British Museum for an hour where we saw heaps of artefacts on Egypt, Greece and Rome including the Rosetta stone which was really fascinating. We then went to a nice little Italian restaurant for dinner. Tomorrow, we are taking the train to Bray to go to the Fat Duck restaurant which we are all getting really excited about. Will try to post some pictures up as soon as possible.

Finally Arrived in London!

Hey everyone,

We finally arrived in London last night after a 15hr delay in Singapore because the plane's flight recorder was broken. We stayed overnight at the Grand Copthorne Waterfront Hotel in Singapore. We got to see a bit of the very exciting buildings and structures in Singapore whilst we were there. Finally arrived in London Tuesday night at 9:40pm. All very tired, looking forward to our first day in London. Sorry haven't blogged sooner as we had no internet access. Will write again soon.
